It was in the 80’s when he trained the boxing team for 5 years. He was a representative of the University of Punjab and was also a student of the National Sports University, Patiala. In the video that was shared by multiple netizens, Khan mentions how he faced a financial crisis and was forced to take painstaking jobs to survive. He has been struggling for quite some time and had discouraged his sons from joining the sports fraternity as well, after he was treated badly by the Indian community. He wants to train again.
That’s when Anand Mahindra, the CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra, stepped in. He claims he is pleased to see that Khan is not asking for a manual. Mahindra is someone who has invested in people, time and time again, depending on their talents, and would be delighted to do the same for Khan.
Thank you Saurabh, for telling us Abid’s story. I especially appreciate that you are not looking for a handout. In any case, I prefer to invest in people’s talent and passion rather than offering charity. Please let me know how I can invest and support your boxing academy ‘startup’ … https://t.co/409LslAvHu

And this is how netizens reacted. It is amazing to see how help arrives and in the shortest possible time.
I really appreciate your idea of INVESTING in people’s talents sir 😊👍
Not only does it keep their pride intact (essential for any talented person) … it also makes them feel great to be the work partner of a billionaire 😀

Great idea sir. Charity is not a solution at all. Making everyone capable is the best solution.

The video was mainly shared by sports journalist Saurabh Duggaon on Twitter.
What do you think of Mahindra’s initiative to help a former athlete?
