The UK has witnessed a long lockdown since the start of the pandemic along with the rest of the world. With the number of cases on the rise, many small businesses such as pubs and salons were closed across the country for almost 4 months. But this lockdown was lifted on April 12, 21 and people are excited to enjoy the little things, hopefully with the greatest precautions.

Heineken celebrates the reopening of pubs and hair salons with pop-ups in the pub gardens. Visitors can now enjoy a pint while getting their hair cut.

#ShearGenius is a mobile hairdressing unit to be installed in pub gardens in London and the West Midlands, so customers don’t have to choose between having a pint or getting a haircut. The sign along with the pub reads: “Long live the lifting of the lockdown” and “Celebrate with a fresh pint of Heineken with friends and get a haircut on us.”

In order to receive a free haircut, all you need to do is purchase a pint of Heineken. Haircuts will be done in a branded stream of air.

The campaign was launched in London at The Gregorian pub in Bermondsey, where famed stylist Michael Douglas supplied decorations on April 12. The West Midlands pop-up will take place on Friday, that is, April 16 at the Hobs Meadow Pub in Solihull.

Douglas has worked with actresses such as Kate Moss and Sienna Miller and has also toured London, Paris, Milan and New York fashion weeks.

The service is offered on a first come, first serve basis to anyone who purchases a pint of Heineken or Heineken 0.0 before 6pm.

The event, developed by the Coolr digital agency, will be supported by a social media campaign covering all Heineken channels and will include a summary film. Visitors to the activation will be encouraged to share their experience with #ShearGenius.
