It is quite compelling to see how the world comes together to help people. Another miraculous discovery took place when the internet was able to find Abid Khan, a former North Indian boxer who now drives a car for a living. A video was circulated on the Internet in which netizens discussed how Indian athletes were neglected after their careers ended.

It was in the 80’s when he trained the boxing team for 5 years. He was a representative of the University of Punjab and was also a student of the National Sports University, Patiala. In the video that was shared by multiple netizens, Khan mentions how he faced a financial crisis and was forced to take painstaking jobs to survive. He has been struggling for quite some time and had discouraged his sons from joining the sports fraternity as well, after he was treated badly by the Indian community. He wants to train again.

That’s when Anand Mahindra, the CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra, stepped in. He claims he is pleased to see that Khan is not asking for a manual. Mahindra is someone who has invested in people, time and time again, depending on their talents, and would be delighted to do the same for Khan.

And this is how netizens reacted. It is amazing to see how help arrives and in the shortest possible time.

The video was mainly shared by sports journalist Saurabh Duggaon on Twitter.

What do you think of Mahindra’s initiative to help a former athlete?
