The second wave of the coronavirus pandemic has hit India drastically, ending multiple lives and creating critical situations for people of all ages. While most of them take place in Delhi NCR, India’s death count is increasing overall, making it the country with the most cases in the world. States have implemented their own COVID-19 protocols to ensure citizens remain safe. In the workplace, companies are also trying to move to a work-from-home model that helps employees and their families stay safe.

Despite all these initiatives, many employees who may have been exposed to the virus become ill or lose family members as a result of this pandemic. It has been a painful situation for most of India. Fortunately, many companies are helping their employees cope with the loss of loved ones. In fact, employees not only get financial support for themselves, but also for the families that depend solely on them.

Borosil Limited, a company known worldwide for its tableware and kitchenware products, has just launched a new initiative. As one of the employees, Swapnil Walunj, said on LinkedIn, the company is taking the situation seriously by helping the families of employees who have lost their lives due to the coronavirus.

Any Borosil Ltd employee who loses his life due to the coronavirus pandemic is entitled to receive 2 more years of their wages and benefits. If the employee has children, school fees will be paid until graduation.

This move provides the whole family with a safe plan so other members have plenty of time to prepare and get their lives back on track. Eliminate the helplessness caused by the loss of a family member and will surely help them cope with the mental and emotional pain.

Not many companies in India or the world have come forward to carry out this unique initiative. We salute these superheroes who put their employees first, before any deadline or customer.

What do you think of Borosil as a company and of this healthy initiative that they have taken?
