The only Indian on the list of the top 10 world leaders, Aadar Poonawalla ranks 10th in the same category. The list is headed by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and includes mRNA pioneers; Paypal CEO Daniel H Schulman, NBA Rescuers and a few other notable personalities.

1) Jacinda Ardern

Today, New Zealand citizens are free from covidity due to protocols that its Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, carried out, which involved cutting back on any measures that would otherwise lead to an outbreak. The way she runs the health department is admirable and Fortune commends her leadership, thus placing her in the top spot.

2) mRNA pioneers

The pioneers of mRNA made the list in the second position because these companies are the ones that have helped produce the most current vaccines due to their discovery by understanding that mRNA can be modified for health benefits. This discovery enabled the production of vaccines that will help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

3) Daniel H Schulman

An American businessman and CEO of PayPal, he revolutionized the pay structure of PayPal employees. It was his decision that all workers should be given 20% of the net disposable income and he designed a structure that he later went and implemented. This has placed it in 3rd position on the Top Global Leaders list.

4) Dr. John Nkengasong

The Director of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Africa), is responsible for addressing the COVID-19 disease in Africa. He has served people in the country of Africa for 30 years and continues to do so with great vigor.

5) NBA rescuers

The National Basketball Association was suspended with the start of the pandemic in March 2020 when some officials tested positive. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver; Chris Paul, a longtime star point guard, Michele Roberts, NBPA CEO and NBPA president, decided to restart the season again, taking into account all the protocols to follow and the actions to be taken. Fortune has ranked them fifth on the list following their success in doing so.

6) Jessica Tan

For its brilliant efforts in the Chinese financial insurance that gave citizens access to verified medical advice during the pandemic, Fortune placed it in sixth place on the list. He created a telehealth app that bought all physicians on a single platform for consultation services, revolutionizing the practice of consulting in such a burgeoning phase of the pandemic.

7) Justin Welby

Justin is the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury and the oldest bishop in the Church of England. However, their role is not limited to that. It supports many global causes that affect society and current issues such as climate change.

8) Stacey Abrams

A politician who lost the electoral election in 2018, she started her own Fair Fight Action organization, which helps address voter suppression issues. She is believed to be a strong politician without a position, she is also a novelist and is expected to run again for governor in 2022.

9) Reshorna Fitzpatrick

The founder of Proceeding Word Church in Chicago, Illinois, brought a revolutionary change in people’s lives during the pandemic with her mission to deliver food for the hungry. This has led her to rank ninth on the Fortune list today.

10) Adar Poonawalla

Executive Director of the Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, has played a crucial role in shipping vaccines to major parts of the world. IBS is also known to offer inexpensive vaccines for multiple diseases such as influenza, measles, and tetanus. In the next year, SII will help deliver 2 billion doses of vaccines to middle-income countries. This has led to the Institute’s CEO being ranked 10th by Fortune.
