Amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in India, various companies are benefiting from new policies such as 4-day-a-week work, wages paid even when sick, and also increases when needed. At Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), CEO Rajesh Gopinathan, earned a 52% salary increase culminating in more than Rs. 55 crore in fiscal year 2020-21. The company accounts for compensation, salary, allowances, and more for its employees.

There is also a fixed and accrued commission policy for all positions. Compared to last year, his salary dropped from Rs. Rs 1.3 crore to Rs. Rs 1.27 crore in FY 2021. Similarly, TCS COO NG Subramanium also had a 60% salary increase compared to last year.

The company is experiencing many beneficial improvements in equipment configuration, which is not common in other multinational companies across the country. As of March 31, the company had a total of 4.88,650 employees who benefited from an annual increase of 5.2% since 2020.

Gopinathan mentions that the company is in a much better place since last year when the pandemic was global and times were uncertain. He’s glad the worst is finally over. TCS has also determined a salary increase for all its employees by October 2021. The company’s new model places the health of its employees as a priority. There are immense opportunities for everyone in which the work definitely gets underway, but personal problems are of the utmost relevance considering the situation around them.

As the pandemic looms over the country, we have yet to see if TCS incorporates more benefits and other companies in India follow suit.
